Ledgerwood leads Kofa girls to third in Chandler

Stephanie Ledgerwood paced the Kofa girls cross country team with a second place finish at the Ojo Rojo Invite in Chandler on Saturday. The Kings placed third as a team.

Ledgerwood finished the course in 18 minutes, 19 seconds. She has also been invited to participate in next week's Doug Conley Invite. Only the top 20 individual runners and teams in the state are invited. Laura Eldrige finished 12th for Kofa.

The Kofa boys placed 11th. The Kings top runner, Ricardo Valdez, finished in 13 at 16:37. Andreas Amaya and Gerald Lara also finished strong for Kofa.

Basha won the team event on the girls side, with Hopi coming in second. Hopi won on the boys side, with Basha in second and Skyline third.
Kofa coach Charlie Splawn said his boys and girls dropped a minute off their times from last week on average.
